Transitions
My father once told me that transitions are where a family’s stress comes from. He said, “consider what it’s like for everyone to want to go, to be ready to go, or to even understand it’s time to go.”
That thought has been with me ever since, and as a mother, business owner, and somatic life coach, it’s an incredibly impactful reflection.
When my clients comment on specific times that they lose their cool, their momentum or their mindset, it’s often at a transition.
Transitions include:
Going to sleep and waking up.
Leaving work and getting home for down time.
Anticipating pregnancy and birth.
Caregiving someone at the end of their life.
Leaving childhood and entering adulthood.
Transitions can be brief, and they can be long. They can hold wonder as we imagine unknown futures. They can hold terror as we imagine unknown futures.
What arises in you when you meet transitions?
Transitions hold choices.
Making choices from a place of agency is possible.
Attuning ourselves to how we are, what nourishment is needed, where we have the chance to anchor and rest, who is there to support us, and finally, what actions we decide is a process.
My work as a somatic life coach offers you space to become more attuned. As you speak to me, sense your body’s response and we open to your subtle emotions, you’ll feel a new relationship to your inner knowing.
My clients report having a different attunement to themselves after just one session. Attunement that shifts the locus of power in life back to YOU.
Your boundaries, your desires and your all out joy if that’s where you want to go.
Certainly, there are aspects of life transitions that we cannot change. And we can call on the embodied sense of ourselves to find the courage to choose when we can.
I’m here to serve you by holding space for your body, mind and heart to sense where you do have choice at transitions. And to help you ground in the relative safety of where you are and who you’re with right now. From there we are open to possibility, wonder and embodied faith.
I am honored to walk beside my clients through the transitions of their lives.
