Emerging from winter
I feel like a bear coming out of hibernation, having done so much of my own somatic healing and deep integration and sitting before you with a root deep and thick like Burdock.
Bear is a private creature. I’ll see Bear maybe once every couple of years, even though I know he often passes through my backyard. I relate to that privacy as I choose to step out on the internet. I've only posted with a few weeks of consistency every couple of years to promote my work. I seem to have a season when I look back at my Facebook memories!
I feel Bear energy because my work with people is so intimate, I steadily hold our privacy in the process. Your session is not at all something I’d talk about on the internet. Confidentiality has been part of my work since I was teenager filing medical charts. It’s vulnerable now that my team is reaching out for testimonials in an effort to widely share our offerings.
People often tell me they share details about their life they’ve never told anyone. The intake form to work with me as a somatic life coach is pretty extensive, and some people take weeks to finish it because it’s truly asking “What has impacted you?” I don’t need to know it all at once, that’s counter to our process, but I do need notes to help you map your nervous system. I honor the depth I’m asking you to go. You won’t open Facebook to find me quoting you from our private conversations.
I feel like a bear, steady four legs paws wide on the Earth. I can look you in the eye and receive you fully, I’m not threatened by your strongest expression. I’m here to hold the reality of your experience with you, and to guide you as you renegotiate your expectations, societal conditioning and boundaries.
I feel like Bear. Sauntering, sensing the nourishing plants, lingering in the moment and emerging or resting with the seasons. And inviting you to do the same.
This summer, I’m rolling out Camp Flower, which is a special blend of herbalism and somatic awareness skills through simple self-paced projects. We start in April and end in September.
This autumn, join me for Return: A Retreat to Source. On the topic of private, the location I chose is in a small Michigan town on land with a strong beamed cabin surrounded by a hiking trail and forest. We will cook together, hold ceremonies and practice somatic skills, herbalism and return to seasonal and personal rhythms.
As I stretch out of hibernation to sharing my gifts more widely, I remember the clients who have informed me of those gifts as we have worked together. I remember my bosses, colleagues and teachers. I remember my coaches, guides and therapists. And I remember how each of them encouraged me to share more and shine!
We learn to discern ourselves by letting other people see us, hold us and care for us.
It’s a high honor to create on behalf of collective healing and wholeness. And I’m harnessing the steadiness of bear energy to make this spring cycle the launch of Camp Flower, my Personal Rhythms Planner, and Return: A Retreat to Source!
May we each find the movement between intimate private moments and sharing our whole selves with the world!
